"New spin on local radio...tourists can soon hear radio tuned in to their needs. Tourism Radio, 96.9 on the FM dial, is to be up and running by the spring. The non-commercial station would loop audio information for tourists, including weekly tourism reports, to promote local festivals, events and activities. The station ...comes from Inspiring Innisfil 2020, a strategic planning document, which urges the town to develop tourism resources, arts and culture, promote the use of Lake Simcoe and develop a tourism network. It also identifies the need for better visitor information services and directional signage."

"New tourist radio gets licence...with spring come the flowers, the tourists, the traffic jams-and new this year, a tourist radio station...along a 10-kilometre stretch of Highway 400...drivers can tune in to discover good reasons to stop in Barrie and Simcoe County..."
